Charity and Dave were married at The Venetian in Garfield, NJ. I usually don’t travel out of New England for weddings, but I have known Charity since college, and thanks to the magic that is Facebook, we were lucky enough to re-connect after a number of years. I have enjoyed following Dave and Charity’s relationship, including their house renovations, endless trips to Home Depot as well as various diners in the North Jersey area, and was so excited when Charity asked me to photograph their wedding. The Venetian is unlike anything I’ve seen in the Boston area. The venue is enormous and filled with marble, gold columns, fountains and mirrors. I counted a number of chandeliers including the massive Murano glass chandelier pictured below. I also encountered numerous stone lions, and the entire venue brought me right back to my dancing days at The Roxy in Boston (If you’ve been there, you know exactly what I’m talking about.)
The best part of any wedding for me if witnessing the joy that is shared between the bride and groom, their families and all of their friends, even if we’ve only been acquainted through their wedding. Knowing Charity, and what a great person she is, it was wonderful beyond words to see her and her adorable groom so incredibly happy. Dave and Charity, you seem to be the perfect case of “opposites attract,” with Dave being quiet and low-key, and Charity being incredibly outgoing and endlessly hilarious. (When I asked the bridesmaids for a “model pose,” they took it to a level I have never seen before.) I had such a wonderful time photographing your wedding. I know you guys have found the perfect match in one another, and I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness together!
