Smith and Wollensky Boston Wedding – Kirsten and Jesse

Kirsten and Jesse’s Summer Wedding at Smith & Wollensky Boston, Back Bay

I’m so happy to share Kirsten and Jesse’s beautiful summer wedding at Smith and Wollensky Boston in the Back Bay from a couple of weeks back. Kirsten and Jesse are both recent MIT grads who hail from out of state. They decided to host their wedding close to the place they’ve called home for the past for years. With both the bride and groom focused on graduating and finishing up their last year of school, I had the pleasure of working with Kirsten’s amazing mom Julia for most of my planning. She was incredibly sweet and helpful throughout the entire process. When the wedding day finally arrived, my assistant Tamara and I met up with the wedding party at the nearby Lenox Hotel, where they made their final preparations.  From there, it was a short cab ride over to Smith and Wollensky’s Back Bay location in the old armory on Arlington Street. The ceremony took place in the historic Battle Room right on site. It had been raining off and on all day, but luckily we had a break right after the ceremony, and were able to photograph all of our wedding party formals right outside while the guests enjoyed cocktail hour at the venue. This was my first wedding at Smith and Wollensky, and I’d have to classify it as a bit of a hidden gem in Boston weddings. The venue itself is gorgeous. The coordinator, Catherine Leiras is so helpful and accommodating (as were all of the staff), and, as you’d expect, the food is top notch. As a bonus, there’s parking right next door, and it’s just a couple of blocks away from the Public Garden, which is always a great spot for portraits. As wonderful as it was working at S&W, the best part of this wedding by far was getting to spend a little time with two incredibly sweet and kind families. It’s hard to describe, but every wedding has a unique vibe, and this one was just very “nice.” (I know, “nice” is the worst word to use to describe anything, but it may be appropriate in this case.) And since, writing is definitely not my strong suit, I will leave it to the the photos to tell the story. Kirsten and Jesse (and both of your families), it was an honor and a joy to be part of your celebration. I’m so happy I got to meet you and wish you a long lifetime of love and happiness together!

As always, thanks to my fabulous assistant Tamara for all of your help and wonderful photos, some of which are included below!
